Sam Kalen has practiced law for over 20 years, assisting clients in resolving a variety of issues under the Nation’s environmental, natural resource and energy laws. Working in both the private and public sectors, Mr. Kalen has worked on issues involving the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, the Clean Air Act, the National Environmental Policy Act, the Coastal Zone Management Act, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act, Superfund, public land law, cultural resources protection, the federal coal program, federal mining law, federal takings jurisprudence, federal water rights, the Federal Power Act, the Natural Gas Act, the Natural Gas Policy Act, the Public Utilities Regulatory Policies Act of 1978, the Energy Policy Act of 2005, and the Public Utilities Holding Company Act. Mr. Kalen serves as an adjunct professor at the University of Baltimore School of Law and teaches environmental law for the United States Army Corps of Engineers. He is currently a visiting professor at the Florida State University College of Law.
