Add Footnote

If you aren't already in edit mode, click the edit button to add a footnote. Footnotes can be added to the body of the page or inside any of the boxes.

To create a marker inside the body of the text for a simple text-only footnote use the following format:

Here we have some text after which you want to insert a marker for a footnote.{footnote}This is the text of the footnote that will appear at the bottom of the page in association with the marker that you've now inserted.{footnote}

This will cause a numbered marker to be created, which will automatically be numbered in sequence. This marker, when clicked, will send the user to the bottom of the page where a numerical list of footnotes are located. Please provide a link to the material where possible and an author or publication citation.

To add a footnote with a link, use the following format: {footnote}This footnote contains a [link to our homepage|http://www.tothevillagesquare.org]{footnote}
