*For Muslims, an imam is a general designation of one who leads prayer. The structure of their faith is less hierarchical than the Christian organizations more of us are familiar with. An Islamic organization will have an imam who is a prayer leader and administers their business, but in Islam, no one mitigates between the people and God. While Dr. Aydin is not an imam by profession, he is an imam in terms of leading prayers in his congregation.
