The star and seahorse ornament set would have been stolen repeatedly because it is BEAUTIFUL and very Florida. As this is my first time on this site and I do not know anything of Lea or Liz, I will guess that the star/seahorse set was Liz's, the other ornament shouts "conservative."

Being new to the site, I will guess based on the -- political leanings I assume -- assignments given the ladies in paragraphs 1 & 2. Ornament #1 was purchased by Lea, the conservative. Ornament #2 was purchased by Liz, the liberal. The Sea Horse in ornament group #2 was stolen 3 times and retired. Ornament #1 was not stolen until the very last when a Sea Horse lover cared enough to soothe the feelings of one of their friends.

The Sea Horse may represent happiness and fantasy of the holiday to many people thereby inviting every daring individual to take it for a short ride. The more traditional ball, with colors and decorations which may be somewhat middle eastern in origin, tends to remind us of the "don't touch anything or you'll be in big trouble!" days of our lives.

Finally, this puzzler brings to the fore a contemplation that the complexity of our thought processes aren't always easy to catogorize. The one with the brightest ornamentation may be the most politically conservative.

What I want to know is which of you shopped the 75% off rack for next years ornament? The conservative republican (aren't republicans suppose to be financially conservative???, or the liberal? Did either of you ask anyone else their opinion before purchasing?? did you test it out on a sample audience before wrapping it? did you buy it because you thought it was the "right one" and will stick with your decision regardless of what other "voters", oh wait, I mean guests thought? Have you changed your mind now that one choice was obviously more popular? Would you buy it again? Was it the "packaging" that convinced people to pick yours? I want to know where the ornaments were made.. what trade laws played a part in their arriving in America? Were the workers exploited when at their jobs? Would that have influenced your decision to purchase it or was it the price? Clearly I am not going to win, (oh yeah, I already know who "won"! I better quit now before I reveal my voting record or have I already done that?

Lea's are the sparkly ones. No doubt. Lea doesn't do "peach brown." Ever.

My vote is Lea = stars! Stars are not only part of her family's verse, they are also very patriotic (stars and stripes, etc). They also stand for being a "star" in a Broadway production...which we all know Lea dreams of!
