Alarming, to say the least. The legislature wants to throw checks and balances out the window with this amendment. It's time to take a closer look at who you're voting for for state legislators and their take on this.

I stumbled across your blog and couldn't help but comment. The legal system is like no other in our country. The judges agree to remain fair and impartial. If they can't they must disqualify themselves to protect the integrity of the system. The ability for judges to make decisions is paramount and when the legislature gets involved in regulating the Judicial Branch you create laws that strip the judges of their ability to "judge" a situation. The best example of this is the current drug trafficking laws in Florida. The drug trafficking laws require mandatory prison and only the State Attorney (can you say biased) can waive the statutory mandatory prison sentence. The drug trafficking law is requires more information, feel free to visit my website for more details: http://roothlawgroup.com/st_petersburg_drug_crime…
This law sends more drug addicts to prison then true drug dealers and judges can only impose the law even if they believe the facts or a person’s criminal history do not warrant prison. We need to stay aware and protect the balance of power our country was founded on or you end up with more laws like this one.
