The Affordable Health Care Act (perjoratably called "Obamacare" by Republicans), is a responsible, caring, and empowering way for Americans to be healthy and afford healthcare. It is NOT Medicaid for everyone…for those without insurance, it is just and makes the basic right of healthcare a possibility; for those with insurance, the act will make insurance companies more responsive, equitable and accoutable. It is a good thing–for all!
You are a true socialist Deborah! One size fits all policies are never good for EVERYONE.
What ever happened to capitalism, where individuals can choose from a variety of plans that best suits their own needs?
It is my understanding the Affordable Health Care Act does provide a variety of plans that you can choose from and that the choices are all private companies in the marketplace with exception of an expansion of Medicaid to reach up to cover a few more at the lowest income level not currently covered by Medicaid.
Remaning uninsured is also a choice you can freely make, but if you chose it your are required to pay a fee, or as the administration ultimately argued and prevailed – a tax. That tax will start low and I think it then goes as high as $700 a year for an individual.
And there are a lot of people living in poverty who I think we can help, but forcing them to buy health insurance that they cant afford is not the answer. Even worse, those same people are fined (taxed) if they dont buy. Makes no sense……I agree with a lot of what Obama care offers, just not all of it, and the sad part is Americans are being FORCED to accept the whole package. Whats next on the Dems agenda that they will force down our throats?
