We’re very excited about our new project – part of our OUR TOWN seriesTallahasseeWiki. TallahasseeWiki uses LocalWiki to make Tallahassee one of two dozen cities in the world to have a hometown wiki. It’s cutting edge and it’s exciting – it’s a resource all about Tallahassee written by you. We wanted to show you what we’re calling “list pages” where we have pulled together pretty extensive lists of categories in Tallahassee. For instance, we’ve got a page on Volunteering, Worship, Groceries, Food Trucks, Arts in Tallahassee, Calendars, and Neighborhoods. And this is just a tiny part of what’s already available. Each of these list pages can be used as a starting page to write an individual page on one of the items listed on the page. For example, on the Food Truck page, we’ve got a page written for Street Chefs (indicated by the solid underlined link) but the other trucks don’t have a page yet (indicated by the dotted underline). To write a page on one of theses trucks, simply click on the name and choose the restaurant template and write!

Want to participate in getting the TallahasseeWiki to take-off speed? Or would you like to learn more about how to make it work? We’re hosting CampWiki this Sunday afternoon from 12:30 to 3:30pm at RedEye in Midtown. We’ll start the program with some basics and you’re welcome to stay and write or drop in and out. We’ll treat for pizza and drinks, and we’ll have a barista there for you to buy your favorite coffee if you require caffeine. Get more information and RSVP (required) online HERE.
