Mike Huckabee sounding downright Village Square-ish
Former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee (R) appeared last night on The Daily Show. Huckabee on the state of politics today:
One of the reasons that I think that America is in trouble today is because we have allowed only the politicians to set the public debate. And as a result of that we do what I call in the book “horizontal politics” which is I think where America is in trouble, people wanting everything to be left or right. The truth is the average American doesn’t think in the ideological terms of left or right. They think in the vertical terms of “are you going to lift us up or are you going to take us down?”
Huckabee: Scalia is 'my own personal hero on the court'
"People who believe that the purpose of the judiciary is not to make law but to properly apply it. My own personal hero on the court is (Antonin) Scalia, not least because I duck-hunted with him," the former Arkansas governor says at TIME.com.
